Review:
I have mixed emotions about this book. This was a highly creative book. The story had individuality and originality. I very much enjoyed the read.
The characters were great. Armando played the straight laced wanna be boyfriend and he was consistent throughout the book. Tee was a crazy best friend that turned out to be truly devoted to Meg. Even Mr. Gonzales played a great part in the story.
The zombie was a unique part of the book. I liked the concept and even looked forward to the parts where the zombie did something or had interaction with the characters.
This story had a zombie like creature, lots of creepy birds, Valkyries and an evil *itch or two. The story leaves you with a good twist to it. Overall, I give it an A for storyline.
Now to the negative. This story had one big negative. It was gross. Lots of grossness ensued. At one point Meg threw up maggots and then had her first kiss with a guy that liked her. Other parts she was farting and wetting herself. As a MC, I just didn't enjoy those parts. Understandably, she was turning into a decomposing body, but it was still icky.
I give this book three glittery stars for a great original read. I would recommend it for the New adult crowd as there were references to drugs and alcohol. The characters were college aged. You can check The Corpse Goddess out for yourself now:)
