Review: Starstruck Series by Brenda Hiatt

Description:
The middle of nowhere just got a lot more interesting!
Nerdy astronomy geek Marsha, M to her few friends, has never been anybody special. Orphaned as an infant and reluctantly raised by an overly-strict "aunt," she's not even sure who she is. M's dream of someday escaping tiny Jewel, Indiana and making her mark in the world seems impossibly distant until hot new quarterback Rigel inexplicably befriends her. As Rigel turns his back on fawning cheerleaders to spend time with M, strange things start to happen: her acne clears up, her eyesight improves to the point she can ditch her thick glasses, and when they touch, sparks fly--literally! When M digs for a reason, she discovers deep secrets that will change her formerly mundane life forever . . . and expose her to perils she never dreamed of.
Book 1 of the award-winning Starstruck series, where teen romance blends with science fiction to open a whole new world of action, adventure and discovery.
STARFALL, the 4th and final book of this series, now available!

Starstruck by Brenda Hiatt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I met this author at a book convention and after spending lunch with her, I knew I had to check out this series. When it came out on audiobook I immediately grabbed it from audible. The plot was so unique! Some science fiction books are very similar, but this series is original and fascinating. When I finally finished, I immediately picked up book 2. Best idea ever. Five glittery stars!

Description:
Marsha Truitt’s life has changed dramatically over the past few months. Instead of a nerdy nobody, she’s the newly discovered princess of a secret civilization. Even better, she’s dating the hottest guy in school, who just happens to be her literal soulmate. But when a new boy arrives at Jewel High, everything M thought she knew about herself and her future is turned on its head. Will the very destiny that lifted her from obscurity now tear her away from Rigel and their happy ever after?
Review:
The series keeps getting better the more I read. This was another stellar installment in a new creative series by a really talented author. The plot continues to thicken and the characters became more complex. I was left with the whole 'wow' factor by the end. And on to book 3! Five glittery stars.

Description:
Being a Princess isn’t all it’s cracked up to be!
Between keeping high security secrets from everyone (including Rigel) and trying to keep Rigel and Sean from killing each other (with no help from Trina, of course!) M has more than enough on her plate already.
She knew that as newly discovered Princess of a secret Martian colony, she’d have to return there someday—but over spring break?? An emergency requires her immediate presence but not everyone is overjoyed to have their long-lost Princess back. Can she win her people over in time to save the colony from destruction? And what will she have to give up in return?
Review:
Another great installment with M, Rigel, Sean, and Molly. I love love triangles! Sean and Rigel are both great martians lol. The plot was intricate and I loved the world building. I can't wait for book 4! Five glittery stars!

Description:
The electrifying conclusion to the Starstruck series!
M, no longer a nerdy nobody, has finally been acclaimed Sovereign Emileia, ruler of the Martian colony Nuath. But at what cost? Without her soulmate Rigel, life seems pointless but she’s expected to shake off her heartbreak and assume her responsibilities. Reluctantly, M does what she must until an unexpected discovery restores a glimmer of hope for the future. Now she is determined to do whatever she can to salvage her longed-for happy ending—if it’s not already too late.
Review:
Really enjoyed this entire series! There were some clever twists and turns in the plot and interesting characters that actually had some morals. If you like ya sci-fi romance, this series is a must read. Five glittery stars.

Review: The Bachelor Auction

Description:
Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.
Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.
Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . .

The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Rachel Van Dyken always writes a good romance. This is the first book in a new series: The Bachelors of Arizona. This one centers on Jane and Brock. It was a great take on modern day Cinderella.
Jane's sisters were total cray-cray. I'm sure my patience wouldn't be as good as hers. And poor Brock. He's a wounded, damaged guy with the world on his shoulders. I really adored him.
The supporting characters, Brock's twin brothers, Brant and Bentley, were so fun. They added spunk to the story. I'm sure one of the next books in the series will center around them.
I can't wait to read more in this highly promising series from a master romance author! Five glittery stars!
