Review of For Their happiness by Jayton Young

Description:

What do you do when your soul-mate doesn’t know you’re his?
Crystie had always kept to herself, only having one friend. She liked it that way, until she saw her mate for the first time. He was everything she could dream of, athletic, honor society, genuinely nice, and defensive of those weaker than him. The only problem; he was the soon to be Alpha and was in love with his childhood sweetheart. They had grown up together and had always been faithful, so Crystie stayed hidden and never let him know.
Trent had always had a soft spot for his best friend, Nikki, but they were not mates. He had always looked for his mate, but as the years passed, he was giving up hope of finding her. He had caught a scent of her when he was seventeen that made his wolf howl ‘Mate!’, but was never able to find who the scent belonged to. As the time for him to take over the pack came closer, he decided to mate with Nikki so the pack would have an Alpha Female.
Now forces are after Crystie along with the problems she’s having by not being with her mate. What will happen if Trent doesn’t discover Crystie is his mate and find her in time?

Review:

The Good:  This is one of my favorite new werewolf books.  I loved it.  It was creative and sweet.  I adored Crystie in this story.  She was such a genuinely good person/wolf.  There was just the right amount of action in it and I was never bored.  In fact, it was a page turner.  I was so sad when I read that Crystie walked away from her mate, I could feel the sorrow she felt.  It didn't seem fair because she always saw the best in everyone, but got nothing in return.

The Bad:  The sequel isn't out yet and I want to read it!!!!  She ended things neatly, but it just wasn't long enough and I need more!!!

The Sexy:  There was the perfect blend of romance in this book.  It was an upper YA, new adult book due to sexual situations.  I really enjoyed the way the romance in this book grew to a crescendo in the end.

Overall:  This was a fabulous book.  I am so glad I took the time to read it.  Any romance or werewolf fan would enjoy this book.  I don't have much more to say about it other than it was awesome and deserves five glittery stars!

The Fab Life by Mercy Amare

Blurb
It’s the life I was born to live: billionaire’s daughters, living amongst the rich & famous. But my mom kept me a secret from my dad. Until now.

I am so out of my league. Fancy parties, expensive cars, and a private school for the elite… It sounds like a dream. But everything is not as perfect as it seems on the outside. Here, the secrets are dirty, and the lies comes easy.

Welcome to my fab life.

Excerpt #1
My palms are sweating, and my heart literally feels like it’s going to beat it’s way out of my chest. I decide that I may vomit before the night is over, but hopefully it won’t be on myself or Ty. I run my hand over the bannister was I walk down the stairs. I keep in there incase I trip, which is very possible. I try to focus on the steps and not on the fact that I’m about to go out of my first date.
Gah. I hate that word. Date. It’s too gray. I like black and white. Nothing about this night is black or white.
I count the steps as I walk down. There are exactly 32 steps from the top floor to the bottom floor. When I get to the bottom, I am forced to look up at Ty. He looks good. Really good. Dammit. He doesn’t look nervous at all. In fact he looks completely cool. Of course he’s cool. He’s probably been out on like a million dates before. Why should he be nervous?
I am relieved to see that he’s wearing jeans and a concert shirt. I didn’t underdress or overdress, and I’m glad I decided to wear jeans. I’m going to ask Toby’s advice more often.
“You look beautiful,” he says, and then hands me a bouquet of purple flowers.
Flowers = date, right?
Ugh, why does this suddenly feel awkward?
I take them from him. I have no idea what kind of flowers they are. I feel like I should know, but it’s not like I frequently get flowers from guys. “Thank you. They are beautiful.”
What am I supposed to do with the flowers? Am I supposed to take them with us? Or am I supposed to leave them here? There should a Dating for Dummies book that covers this. Maybe there is. Memo to self - look it up. I will be more prepared next time.
Next time? Calm down, Kihanna, I tell myself. Let’s get through tonight before we start thinking about a second date.

Excerpt #2
“You’re so hot, and sexy. I just… I want to lick you.”
I have no idea why, but I laugh. Hard. “You want to lick me?”
“Yeah!” Ty nods. “Can I?”
“Where?”
“Right here,” he answers, motioning around us. “I don’t care who sees.”
I laugh. “No. Where would you lick me at? Like on my body.”
Ty smiles. “Anywhere you want.”
Hmm… I’m liking this. “How about everywhere.”
Ty looks at me for a second. It’s then that I notice his eyes are glazed over. He gets a very serious look. “Have you been drinking?”
I nod, and put my fingers an inch apart. “Just a little bit. Like half a cup. It was so gross, but I can’t feel my fingers.” I laugh, and poke his chest. “Can you feel that? I so can’t feel it.”
“What did you drink?”
I think for a second. Crap. What did Jason call it? “T… Tequila! That’s it! It burned my throat.”
“Who gave you tequila?”
“Jason.” The ground starts moving beneath me, and I grab onto Ty’s arm. “How is the sand doing that?” I look up to see it’s not just the ground. The palm trees are moving too. “Whoa.”
“Have you ate dinner yet?”
I shake my head, and feel dizzy from the sensation. Ty grabs me to keep me from falling over. “Oops,” I laugh again. “I think… maybe… I’ve had just a little too much tequila.”
Ty puts his arm around my waist, and I lean into him as we walk.
“You smell so good.” I sniff his chest. “Is it weird that I’m smelling you?”
“I am going to feed you, put you to bed, and then kill Jason,” Ty says.
“Awe,” I pout. “But I don’t want to go to bed.”
Ty pulls me inside the house, and we go to the kitchen. He hands me a slice of pizza. “Eat.” I take the slice from him and take a bite. He grabs a bottle of water from the fridge, and takes the lid off. “Drink.” I take a sip.
“I feel sick.” I put down the pizza. “I don’t want anymore food.”
“If you don’t eat, you will get a lot more sick,” Ty explains. He looks very angry. “I am going to fucking hurt him. I can’t believe he gave you so much tequila.”
I put my hand on Ty’s face. “You know what I like about you? Your lips. They’re so soft. And they taste so good. We should kiss more.”
Ty grins. “Oh, should we?”
I nod. “Yep!” I put my head on his chest, and he puts his arms around me. “I like it when you hold me, too. It’s the best.”
“I think I kind of like you like this.”
I giggle. Why can’t I stop laughing. “I don’t think I can feel my cheeks.” I touch my cheek, and feel nothing. The room starts spinning even faster. I’m about to fall when Ty scoops me into his arms.

Review of the Immortals by Ednah Walters

Description:

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

So Raine comes up with a plan...
She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

Review:

This was a great addition to the series.  When Runes ended, my jaw dropped and tears filled my eyes. I couldn't believe such an awesome book ended the way it did.  In truth, it made me that much more excited for book two.  I HAD to know what was going to happen next.
I really liked the characters.  Torin is just freaking hot and the epitome of bad boys.  Who wouldn't want to be loved by a guy like Torin? I also enjoyed getting to know Erik more.  There's so much more to him and he suddenly became very interesting. Cora has never been my favorite character, but I still felt for her in this book.
The plot was interesting and engaging.  I liked the complexity the story has taken on.  There is no way I would miss reading the next installment of this series.  This is a great paranormal romance and I have to give this book and series five glittery stars for it's pure fabulousness!

First book in the series:

Description:

Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about Torin. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only are she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life.

Review:

This book started off a little rocky for me. I didn't like the first 15 pages maybe? But, I'm glad I stuck with it, because the book was great!
I still never warmed up to Raine's best friend, but that didn't diminish the story in any way. The storyline was crafty and well written.
Raine has to choose between the sexy boy next door that she has amazing chemistry with and her best guy friend, Eirik. I felt like she was a little selfish holding onto Eirik, but I forgive her eventually :)
Torin St. James. I need to devote a whole paragraph to how awesome he is! He's sexy, full of snark, and an amazing person under his intense exterior. I rooted for him the whole book and was pissed when he went away. He came back, but I still wasn't too happy.
I'm glad there is a sequel, because I was left with a lot of questions. Her family, Torrin, Eirik, and herself were all left with a big ? behind them. I'm dying to find out what is going to happen in the second book, Immortals.
Overall, this book was a good start of what could be an awesome series. I can't wait to see what Ednah has in store for us in book 2. This book gets four glittery stars for it's intriguing series debut!
