Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch...
Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about meat sword? That’s what it is…a meat sword, right, all meaty and sword like, slaying through the inner dungeons of a woman’s dark desires. What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?
God, I have no idea what happens when private parts touch.
I’m a virgin trying to write a romance novel and can’t seem to write past a sex scene thanks to my lack of experience.
My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen for a while and gain some real life practice through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups.
But losing my virginity is proving to be tougher than expected…

Review:
If you are looking for a book brimming with hilarious moments that will keep you laughing, then this book is for you. It was by far one of the funniest books I've read in this genre. The poor MC has so many crazy things happen to her. While most of it was not believable, it was still a good read if you can look past that. She was too naive even for someone so sheltered. Her two roommates hadn't sheltered her from all the sex they were having so I was a little confused how she could still be so clueless after years in college and living with a guy and girl roommate.
Anyways, getting off topic. As a whole, this book had romance, comedy and strong friendships. It kept me entertained and I read the entire book pretty quickly. I was always waiting for what was going to happen to her next.
In fact, my husband banned me from reading it late at night because I laughed so hard it woke him up several times. It's that kind of uncontrollable laughing that leaves you with tears. No joke!
On to the girl roommate. She was a good friend and I was happy the author made good things happen to her. Even as a secondary character she was fun. Their friendship knew no bounds. Any girl that would stick by her friend through all the MC went through is one worth having.
Then there was the guy roommate and love interest. He was not as likeable to me as I would have liked in the book. He contradicted himself in many ways and used a few girls just because he could. He had sex and lots of it with random girls, which would have been fine, but not if he had such deep feelings for the MC the whole time.
He brought his hook-ups to the apartment they shared. It's very mean and definitely sent a much different signal that he should have been sending even if it was just a few hints of his feelings. It just made him seem slightly cold.
The author tried to wrap up the story with a happy ending, but after all the things the love interest did to the MC, I had a hard time feeling it. I thought she deserved better but who am I to judge, this is the author's story and she told it as she meant to.
Kudos to Meghan Quinn for writing a hilarious romantic comedy. She put herself out there and shared this story with the world. Hopefully she has a ton of success with The Virgin Romance Novelist! Overall, it gets four glittery stars because I was definitely entertained!
