Review of the Blood and Bone Trilogy by Tara Brown

Blood and Bone (Blood and Bone #1)

Listen, listen to the wind and stone.

Listen, listen to the sounds of old.
Listen, listen as my hopes are drowned.
Listen, listen to the sounds that bullets make of blood and bones.
Where will you run today?
How will you ever get away?”
This is NOT a romance. This is a ride.
Blood and Bone
The hollow sound of a casing hitting the floor.
The clicking of heels walking in a misty alley.
The ability to tie a cherry stem with her tongue.
A haunting song no one else knows.
That's all that's left of Jane's memories.
What would you do if the life you lived was a lie, and everyone knew but you?
Where do you run when there is no one on your side?
Jane discovers that deep inside her mind there is a map.
What she doesn't know is that there is also a man who will do anything to get it.
But what he doesn't know is that Jane hasn't always been honest about the things she remembers.
There are paces inside of Jane that even she doesn't like to go.
What would you do if the secret you kept was the only thing keeping you alive?
But keeping it meant someone else had to die.
Don't miss out on the new dark read by Tara Brown!

Review:
WOW! Just wow! Tara Brown blew me away with this thriller! The suspense had me on flipping the pages until the very last one! Even then, I was hungry for more.
This was an incredibly well written book. The mystery, suspense, romance all blended together seamlessly. I had no clue what was going to happen, it was totally unpredictable.
Everyone was a suspect, no person or place was safe. The main character had many layers that were peeled back throughout the story, unraveling into so much more.
The story tied up nicely and left me satisfied, although it completely blew my mind. There is a sequel, Sin and Swoon. It is available for pre-order and I can't wait to read it. I have this need to know more.
As a whole, this story was unlike anything I've read in such a long time. I'm glad Netgalley gave me the opportunity to review it. I have to give this book five glittery stars because it's amazing.
After reading the book, I'm still unraveling things in my head. This story has that wow factor I always look for in a good book. Highly recommend for New Adults and Adults.

Sin and Swoon (Blood and Bone #2)
Not even the warning label on the experimental project could have prepared Jane Spears for the nightmare she would walk into when the Ashley Potter case landed in her lap. Deep inside the victim’s mind, Jane finds clues hinting at the worst crimes she has ever come upon. But the bread crumbs don’t lead anywhere, and in the waking light Jane discovers nothing is as she believed. The conspiracy goes deeper than she can reveal, and the crimes are too hideous to leave unsolved. Can she stop it all in time, or will she be sucked in—trapped by the deranged mastermind?

Review:
This trilogy continues to blow me away! I will admit, it took me a few minutes to get into the story. However, once I did, it was sooo brilliantly written!
Now that I knew the basis for the trilogy, after the big revalation in book one, this book made more sense. I like how it was so seemlessly weaved into the plot.
There were quite a few twists and turns in this installment. You would never see most of them coming! I was entranced by the story! It was just as good, if not better than Blood and Bone.
This book gets five glittery stars for meeting and surpassing my expectations!

Soul and Blade (Blood and Bone #3)
Being a mind runner isn’t easy, but catching criminals is all that matters to Jane Spears. Though her job may be gruesome, she’s not willing to stop just yet. And even as she admires the ring from her fiancé, she has no intention of letting a wedding sidetrack her work—not when she’s about to delve into the darkest mind she’s ever encountered.
As she starts to explore the twisted ruins of a sociopath’s psyche, Jane realizes she may have finally met her match. She knew this case would be a challenge, but she didn’t expect to get caught in a mind-bending nightmare. Because this irredeemable murderer seems to know something about Jane that even she doesn’t—something unspeakable lurking in her past. Can she escape the killer’s derangement unscathed and ready to walk down the aisle?
Review:
This book was the perfect ending to an exceptionally fantastic trilogy. Five glittery stars for this book and the trilogy as a whole. The book had plenty of twists and turns, like the other two. However, it had evolved into a different type of suspense plot. The story took a lot of questions from the previous two books and wove them together. We got all the answers to all the mysteries. I was extremely satisfied with how everything unraveled. The Blood and Bone Trilogy is a must read for any mystery/suspense lover.

About the author:

I am the mother of two beautiful girls who are growing up so fast, the wife of a cute guy in a uniform (my own personal hero), and a writer.

My family will tell you it doesn't exactly fall into that order. Especially around dinner time when I "Cook" from a takeout menu with my face plastered to my computer.
I also have two cats who I adore more than I should, like more than people I know, and a dog. He is a beagle who is naughty but just so darned cute. He gives you that little beagle face and then steals your slice of pizza.
I have a busy mind and even busier fingers. I can write fast and keep track of a large cast, but I can't remember why I'm at the grocery store. I try to write lists but they always end up being notes for books or indie bands. I LOVE INDIE MUSIC!
I talk to myself in the car and sing too loud for my skill level. The invention of Bluetooth has made talking in the car less awkward but if you hear me singing, run.
I love writing. I love my characters like they are my friends and I am telling their version of the truth.
My worst flaw is the horrid English accent which I read everything with. If I read aloud it comes too. I'm not English, so I can't even do the accent which makes it awkward for anyone who is nearby.
My favourite authors are Robert Jordan and Jane Austen and Robert Mccammon and Jim Crace. I think Stephen King and Dean Koontz have the most unique imaginations. I have the hardest time not LOVING Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger. I know all the serial killers have a copy but I adored that novel. It made me feel a thousand different things and one of them was more alive. (And not in the least bit serial killer-ish)
When I grow up I want to be James Patterson or Nora Roberts. I aspire to be like them, always trying to hone my skills and work harder.
My genres are all over the map. I have Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Romance, Science Fiction, Erotica (under Sophie Starr my porn name so my mom doesn't know), Thrillers, and even some Romantic Comedies.
